Amerikaanse dirigent van de Boston Pops, geboren 7 november 1959 Poughkeepsie, New York.
Keith Lockhart is in de opvolger van John Williams als dirigent van de Boston Pops Orchestra.
Uit de leden van het Boston Symphony Orchestra ontstond in 1885 het Boston Pops Orchestra dat tijdens promenadeconcerten onder Arthur Fiedler generaties Bostonians liet kennismaken met (licht) klassieke muziek in ontspannen sfeer. De Boston Pops zijn ook bekend door de filmmuziek die John Williams als dirigent van dit orkest componeerde voor Steven Spielberg en met de Boston Pops opnam.
Previous to this, Lockhart was associate conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony and Cincinnati Pops, as well as Music Director of the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, all based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lockhart is an alumnus of Furman University, and of the Brevard Music Center, where he had his first experience of conducting.
